This diagram shows a PECO Insulfrog turnout, the main difference for an Electrolfrog turnout is that there is no insulation present in the wing rails at the crossing nose (frog) and the crossing nose (frog) itself is metal rather than plastic. An over centre action is achieved by a 'V' shaped spring located in the tiebar. Electrical switching, if no seperate switch is used, employs contact tabs on the switch rails and bonding wires at the crossing nose (frog). |
